Cards, Cards and More Cards - Flying Unicorn Kit of the Month

My layout mojo was lacking when I was working with this month's kit from Flying Unicorn, Sweet Dreams, but lucky for me the papers were perfect for cards.

One of Elliot's best friends just turned 7 and she had a Star Wars-themed birthday party.  So when I saw The Force Girl digi over at Saturated Canary I knew she was perfect for Emmy.

I covered the diecut frame from the kit with Stampendous Aged Embossing Enamel in Aged Gold and Aqua.  The image is colored with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers - I recently bought the Copic Coloring Guide Level 3: People, and love the effects I've been able to get on hair using the pointers in it.

A closeup of the layered papers from the kit, with some Pink Paislee Artisan Elements from a past kit for some extra dimension.

For my next card I put my markers away (very briefly!) so that I could use this adorable Twiddleybitz chipboard bird and branch - it started out 12" long but I cut it down into smaller pieces.   For the background I used the Crafter's Workshop 12x12 Damask stencil and some molding paste.

I love how many of the Flying Unicorn Adornments can be laced with ribbon (or if you want them to lie flat you can snip off the loops with some wire snips - I use my Bind-It-All ones and they work a treat).

I colored the branch with Prima Chalk ink in Branch Bark (how appropriate LOL) and the bird with Mix'd Media Inx in Jasmine and Satchel Glimmer Glaze from the Tattered Angels White Washed Pine Paint System.  I love the Viva Decor Pearl Pens included in the Embellishment Add-On!

I hope you've had a chance to pick up your Sweet Dreams kit and add-ons.  The Flying Unicorn kit goes on sale on the last day of the month - mark your calendar so you don't miss out!

Thank you so much for stopping by.
