This is one of the gorgeous sunsets we enjoyed on the deck of my in-laws' cabin. I don't generally scrap pictures of scenery, but I made an exception for this picture because it reminds me vividly of what summer is like at the cabin.
Here is this month's beautiful sketch by Michele Singh. Be sure to play along with us for your chance to win some yummy Blue Fern Studios goodies!
I used Blue Fern's Ombre Dreams paper line for my layout, layering pieces of paper behind where my photo would go, and then adding mists and inks to the page in colours that complement the background and the photo.
I primed the Roman Clock Set Large pieces with white gesso then painted them with several colours of watercolor paint and touched them up with a little chalk ink at the end.
The Bohemian Flowers got a similar treatment, though I added some heat embossing between gesso and painting for a little texture and to help them stand out from the clock pieces.
A little closeup of the background work.
I finished it off with the title "Peace" from the Good Vibes set, coloured with watercolor in pink and then touched up with some green chalk ink.
Thank you for stopping in today! I hope you'll play along with us over on the Blue Fern Studios blog!
