Being the mother of three boys, you can imagine I don't use a lot of pink on my layouts. I don't tend to use cardstock, either, relying on beautiful patterned papers to inspire me, so I found the idea of creating my own background a little intimidating.
At the Anna Dabrowska class I recently attended, she showed us a technique for creating backgrounds using Distress Stains that was beautiful. The only problem is that I only have 3 Distress Stains, and none of them are pink. To achieve a similar effect I used two pieces of chipboard to create a mask and sprayed alternating layers in between them with a combination of Tattered Angels and Lindy's Stamp Gang mists. I then sprayed in a couple random areas and splattered some mists across the page.

This is a total departure from my normal style, but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
I hope you'll come and join in on the challenges - there are some beautiful RAKs up for grabs, and unfortunately for me CT members aren't eligible.
