Winter Walks in Whistler

This month Maggi is hosting a Round Robin challenge in the Flying Unicorn Forums and I got to lift an incredible layout by Soo Ling.  In keeping with the Stash Challenge we are currently running, with a $25 gift card up for grabs just for using products you already own, I dug deep into my stash for this one.

Soo Ling chose to honor three generations of men in her layout; I put my own twist on it by featuring three boys in one generation for mine.

I have been hoarding these lovely 7 Dots Studios "Wonderland" papers, some of my all-time faves, and decided to pull them out and use them rather than keeping them tucked away where no one will see them.

I added texture to the background with masks, gesso, modeling paste, mists, Dry Rock Candy glitter, black Gelato and embossing powder to build on the already gorgeously layered look.

Almost everything I've used has been in my stash at least 6 months, some things much longer.  The only new items are the Flying Unicorn Metal Adornments tucked in my frame.   The darker sprigs and gold balls in my cluster are upcycled from a Christmas pick I've had kicking around for ages.

I did not have any alphas to match my color scheme.  A couple drops of alcohol ink (I have about 20 bottles I seldom think to use, which is a pity because they are so versatile) transformed these so that they were perfect.

The flower is made from Maya Road Zipper trim and modeled after the Prima Sunrise Sunset ones.  I'm really happy with they way it turned out!

As always, thank you for stopping by!
